My dad was in NYC a few weeks ago, so we met for lunch in between his work appointments, at Lure Fishbar in Soho. Funnily enough, I don’t like fish, but I trust his judgement in food and restaurants so I went along with it. It’s hard to find because it’s below street-level, but the interior is really cute, and looks like the interior of a yacht.
When I saw that they make their own salt and vinegar chips, I knew I had to have them. They were very good, and tasted like malted vinegar, but could have used more salt, in my opinion.
Supposedly they have an amazing burger, but I decided to try the cobb salad, and I’m so glad I did. It was one of the best I’ve had. I loved how the avocado, bacon, tomato, and chicken were chopped up. The Dijon vinaigrette is served on the side but I mixed it all in.
My dad says that Lure’s ceviche is one of the best he’s ever had, so of course he ordered it. Even I tried a bite and have to admit it was tasty! It was really light and didn’t taste fishy at all. The raw fluke was served with mango, tomato, shallots, and yuzu kosho.
I didn’t try my dad’s plate of sashimi but I know he liked it. If this place wasn’t so pricey I’d be back sooner; I’ll just have to wait until my dad comes back!
